Too bad more people don't want to gorge themselves on ripe, plump truth.
A substantial quote and worthwhile companion for a cold winter evening. Shall ruminate upon it and undoubtedly lasting and meaningful cognitive links will be forged.
Salud.
Kass, I think there are enough of us to support our own community, especially if you allow us a modest exemption about facing the truth about ourselves! And thanks as always for visiting, Stan.
Truth is tough, and that's why it hurts, I suppose....that's why we write, isn't it, to get to the truth, or at least our version of the truth....what a thought-provoking post, John. Happy New Year to you!
Mr. Holmes deserves all of the credit, Alanna. And a very happy new year to you also.
Yes, he sure does, and thanks!
Hi, I just wanted to amend my last comment, I misunderstood you slightly.....Mr. Holmes does deserve the credit, but you deserve the credit too for bringing the brain candy as always!
Brain candy. I rather like that phrase, Alanna. It goes nicely with the more familiar phrase "eye candy," referring to a beautiful woman one brings along as a date. Then again, I suppose it could also apply to men, though I can't say I've ever heard it used that way.
I like that phrase too, John, and it did make me think of eye candy. I was going to use it for a title until I searched it on Google and found out it's a feature film by Kids in the Hall and also a Web site of "intelligent humor, unusual riddles, celebrity insults, collected quotations, jokes, clever wordplay and mind games." They claim to have been online for 20 years. I found all this very interesting.

It does sometime seem next to impossible to come up with a truly original idea or phrase that no one has used before. The world is just too big, full of too many creative people with fertile imaginations, and of course the ease of the web in finding it all just makes us that much more aware of it all. But I wouldn't let that stop me from doing anything, and I hope you don't either, Alanna.
Thanks John, you are right and after reading your comment, I won't! I'll probably end up using it sometime, for something.
What is it they say, there are no original ideas, it's all in the approach that makes it fresh. I'm completely paraphrasing, of course.
