Listening Is An Act of Love is a book of collected stories from NPR's splendid Story Corps project. This is oral history as prose poetry, and I'm still kicking myself (just a little) for not hauling a couple of friends who are particularly well-stocked with interesting personal narratives down to the mobile audio booth when it passed through Cleveland a couple summers ago. You can review earlier favorite book titles here.

I make every effort to listen to the Story Corps segment every Friday on NPR's 'Morning Edition'. In the D.C. area, it's on at 6:20 a.m. and is a great way to start my commute to work.
Good for you, early bird. And how nice of you to stop by. Hope you make it back to YTown every now and then. And JCU as well. If ever you're in Cleveland, give me a holler and we'll have a beer.
