Really Do Matter
'If you think small things don't matter, try spending the night in a room with a mosquito.'

Yeah, but I'll bet the Dalai Lama didn't swat the mosquito.
Geez, Mike, I can't believe I didn't connect that with our recent conversation about the infamous Obama fly-swatting incident. It must have been active on a subconscious level, though. And for the record, I went zero for about six in my weekend attempts to swat flies near me.
Love this one - I haven't heard it before!
He mentioned it the other night over dinner at our house. Just kidding...
Oh how funny. Just yesterday I change the name of my blog from "Small Things" to something else. It was going to be about seemingly small but important things, but I dug myself into a "small" rut and couldn't get out. I guess I just couldn't think small enough... heh heh.:-b
The focus is much more expansive now, for my rambling brain. And I'm not sure if that will help.
It is interesting how the very name of a blog can limit you, especially if you let it. It's a little like running a political party: The trick is finding a name that's inclusive enough of the things you're obsessed by to be a big tent, under which they'll all fit, and yet to still be descriptive of what you're all about. Harder than it first seems.
Like you did with "Working with Words" .... I'd say that's a pretty big tent!
And getting larger all the time, Pat, thanks to great folks such as you. But remember, nothing worthwhile comes easily or quickly: I've been piling away at this every day for over six years. In blog time, that's more like 60 years. Or maybe 600...
I love HH's sense of humor. He's a riot.
HH? Does that perhaps stand for his holiness? I guess I'm just not up on the Buddhist lingo. Now I know you are, though, Michelle.
Opens a long discussion. To be hunted or to defend yourself. I've had a dog barking at a Raccoon all night keeping me up. I've put the dog in the garage, turned on the light out side and yelled at the Raccoon, he/she looked at me and climbed down the trellis and casually ambered a way, and now an hour later is still driving the dog crazy.
So if it were me in the room with the mosquito, I'd hunt it down before it got me!
Don, I wish you more quiet and better rest.
