Robert Frost on the True Value of Higher Learning

'We go to college to be given one more chance to learn to read in case we haven't learned in high school. Once we have learned to read, the rest can be trusted to add itself unto us.'
--the late and immortal poet, Mr. Frost. You can review earlier mentions of the Sublime One here, here & here.

So true, except for the whole job requirement of an advanced degree thing . . .

More than a minor irritant for many folks, no doubt. What's your field, Joanna?

Left field, mostly, according to those who love me best!

Education, working towards a required master's degree. School is O.K. but paying for it may kill me.

Ah, and she has a sense of humor also. Splendid. I know lots of people are in that same boat now, struggling to pay tuition. It's a tough time. But I suppose we'll eventually look back on it all as a character-building era. At least I hope so. Can't recall seeing your name in comments before, so a special welcome to you, Joanna. I hope you'll keep coming back and joining the conversation when the spirit moves you.
